Buying a Car

When we realized our truck needed repairs totaling what we had paid for it to begin with, we decided it was time to move on. So we began looking for a car. We figured an SUV was out of our price range, at least for something reliable, so we focused on a car. We were originally looking for a Toyota or Honda, but unless you could drop everything and go look at it as soon as it was listed, it was usually gone. So, Saturday morning I replied to probably 6 listings, and waited to see what happened. We had to be back at 2 for a grad party and then a choir party, so we didn't have much time to play with. Around 10:30 we got a call from someone who was selling a '98 Nissan Altima. Everything about it sounded great, so we left at 11:15 to look at it. The process took a little longer than we expected. There was a little wobble in the wheels when accelerating, but we didn't think that was a major thing, so we bought the car. When we got it home, we took it in to the mechanic to have him look at it. It turns out that both front axles need to be fixed. It is frustrating having to put $450 into it right away, but our mechanic says it's a great car and that we got a good deal on it. Hopefully he's right. I am excited to drive it though! It has such a smooth ride which can be enjoyed in the comfort of deliciously cool air conditioning.

YUCK! I'm sorry about the axles....but glad that you were able to negotiate a price that left you a little (?) breathing space.

Enjoy! And who's driving it now?
