Our History

Our meeting was an unusual one, although it is becoming much more common in this age of technoloy. With Matt being from New Jersey and I from Canada, there was only one likely way of meeting: the internet. Matt and I met on eharmony.com on April 1, 2005. It was a whirlwind relationship from the beginning. We quickly discovered that we shared core values, and had many of the same interests, music being one of them. So we agreed to meet. We did not want to move forward in our relationship if it was not of the Lord, so we waited for the Lord to provide the money for Matt to make the trip to Canada. It was amazing and exciting to see His provision through various means to make that first trip happen. So we met in person for the first time on May 25, 2005. It was an intense 2 weeks of getting to know each other better and my family seeing what Matt was made of. Even at that point, we both felt the Lord leading us toward marriage. I was able to make trip down to New Jersey to meet Matt's family in mid July, and although short, it was long enough to cement it in my mind that this was the man God had prepared me for. In August, Matt came up to Canada to visit and attend my sister's wedding. It was the following day that he asked me to marry him in a canoe on a lake where I had many childhood memories. Of course I said yes! We were married on New Year's Eve, 2005 in New Jersey.
