Brrrrrr . . . COLD!!

When I got up this morning the thermometer read "COLD". Okay, so not really. But it sure felt cold! How can 0° Fahrenheit (-18 ° Celsius) feel so frigid? Now before all you Northerners start laughing and calling me a wimp, let me explain to you that there is a difference between here and there. We have this thing called humidity in New Jersey. You should experience it sometime. It goes right into your bones and makes winter unbearable. So when the thermometer says it's 0° Fahrenheit, it really feels like -22 ° Fahrenheit (-30 ° Celsius). When my car didn't want to start this morning I wasn't surprised. And I would have plugged it in last night, knowing it was going to be chilly, but cars from Tennessee don't come equipped with anything for this kind of weather. It would have been a nice excuse to stay at home, snuggled in my bed with the heating blanket. But instead I tried to start the car again . . . it sounded painful. Finally it started. I glanced at my cell phone which I had left in the car to charge all night . . . it said "Temp exceeded". I guess nothing was meant to work at these frozen temperatures, including me. When I got to work this morning I found my office very nippy. Now even on a good day my office is chilly, but today it was particularly so. I had even left a heater running all night in the hopes that it would stave off the cold a little. I can't imagine how freezing it would be without it.

So here I sit at my desk, with a heater at my feet and one across the room. The breaker keeps flipping because we weren't meant to be using this much electricity in one room. When I want to use the printer I have to turn my heater off. When someone needs to use the copier, the other heater has to be turned off, or else I will be making many trips to the breaker box to flip the switch yet again. Such efficiency!

Well, honey...it's nice and warm here at home. Maybe I'll bring something by to try to warm you up a little ;)

This one made me laugh, and let me know we are kindred spirits in regards to being cold!
