To Vaccinate, or not to Vaccinate

In getting mentally prepared for having a baby, I have begun looking into vaccinations since it seems to be a hot topic. What I have found has been alarming, and very surprising. One statistic states that in 1983, there were 10 shots on the vaccination schedule. Autism was 1 in 100,000. Today there are 36 vaccines given, and autism has risen to 1 in 100. What I don't understand is that if this is a proven fact, why are so many vaccinations still reqired before children enter school??? Being that the risks seem much greater than the rewards (most of the diseases children are vaccinated for are rare), we have decided to take the road less travelled and hold off on the vaccines, at least for now. There is no reason a baby should have to get multiple shots when their tiny bodies are so small and defenseless. That is not to say vaccines are all bad, but we would like to hold off until our baby is a little older and can handle it better.

In researching vaccinations and it's link to autism, I ran across a couple of books on autism and ADHD friendly diets. I had no idea that food can be a trigger for either one of them, and while it may not be very applicable for us right now, at some point it may come in handy. Has anyone ever heard of this diet and seen successful results with it?
